Post Properties, Inc is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that specializes in developing and operating upscale multifamily apartment communities in ten markets in the U.S. It's one of the largest operating in this area. Its New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol is PPS.
Post Properties was founded in 1971. It likes to provide resort-style garden apartments in urban areas. They use the brand Post Preferred Homes™, begun in February 2005, to sell townhomes and condominiums. Their headquarters are in Atlanta Georgia. They own 61 communities, with a total of 21,890 apartment homes.

Post Corporate Apartments provides apartments to business for temporary use. Post Investment Group does the development, acquisition, disposition, for-sale and asset management. Post Landscape is the division for making sure the properties have beautiful landscape and surroundings. Post Maintenance keeps the physical plant and HVAC systems operating, and the buildings in good repair. Post Commercial Leasing manages the inclusion into the apartment communities of restaurants, convenience stores, dry cleaners, coffee shops, small grocers and other retail stores residents need and want.

Post Properties therefore is a REIT that provides housing to upscale customers. It's somewhat limited, though, because it's only on East Coast and in a few Southern markets. Therefore, its diversification is limited.
