Camden Property Trust

Camden Property Trust is REIT that owns, develops and manages, acquires and redevelops, high quality multifamily apartment buildings or communities. It's one of the largest one in the U.S. with that specialty. Plus, it provides consulting, building and construction services for other companies.

Camden's NYSE ticker symbol is CPT. It was founded in 1982 by Ric Campo and Keith Oden, and it remains in Houston Texas. They purchased their first apartment building in 1987, in Houston Texas. They went public in July 1993. They now have about 70,000 apartments, in 178 properties across the United States. They're in eighteen high growth markets in the lower United States. It's been named to FORTUNE's 100 Best Companies to Work For.

In 2005, they merged with Summit Properties, bringing them much greater diversification. This is in line with their strategy they call "Market Balance." They also diversify their product offerings. They have 1, 2 and 3 bedroom, "garden" apartment communities in suburban areas, as well as high rise residences, town homes, lofts and upscale studio apartments in urban areas.

Their communities include: Camden Cedar Lakes Lake St Louis Missouri, Camden Cove West, South Summit, Camden Cross Park, and Camden Westchase in and around St Louis County Missouri. Camden Sierra, Foundtain Palms, Legacy, Copper Square, Vista Valley, Pecos Ranch, Towne Center, San Paloma in Phoenix Arizona. Martinique, Sea Palms, Parkside, Crown Valley, Vineyards, Harbor View, Main and Jamboree in Los Angeles California.

Bel Air, Breeze, Hills, Vintage, Pointe, Pines, Del Mar, Canyon, Cove, Commons, Tiara, Legends, Summit, Oasis Gateway, Oasis Palms, Oasis Vinings, Oasis Emerald, Oasis Island, and Oasis Pearl in Las Vegas Nevada.
