McKay Securities Group plc (LSE:MCKS) is a UK-REIT specialising in the development and refurbishment of commercial real estate primarily in proven areas in South East England and central London. (But also own property in Glasgow City Centre, Scotland.) It holds the buildings it develops for long term rental income.
McKay Securities converted to UK-REIT status April 1, 2008. They are based in Berkshire. They currently value their portfolio at 205 million pounds. David Thomas is Chairman.
McKay Securities plc was formed in 1946 by G.F. (Peter) McKay and first listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1959. They started out in residential areas, but switched to commercial properties in the 1970s.
