Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust (SIN:A17U) -- also known as A-REIT -- was the first space and industrial REIT in Singapore. Ascendas held its IPO November 19, 2002 with eight properties. Now it owns at least ninety-two properties with a book value of $S 4.8 billion.
Its owns a diversified portfolio of business and science parks, hi-tech industrial properties, light industrial properties, logistics and distribution centers and warehouse retail facilities. They have around nine hundred thirty tenants, international and local companies in many industries. Tan Ser Ping is Executive Director & CEO.
The Ascendas Group owns 20% of A-REIT. They also own 100% A-REIT's manager, Ascendas Funds Management (S) Limited (AFM) and the property manager, Ascendas Service Pte Ltd (ASPL).
