Corio N.V. (AMS:COR) is the largest Real Estate Investment Trust in The Netherlands, and one of the largest in Europe. It selects, develops, redevelops, owns and manages one of the largest number of shopping malls in Europe -- 95. Their portfolio is now worth about 7.2 billion euros.

Corio previously owned office buildings, small retail places and industrial properties as well, but has sold most of them to focus on its retail malls.

It owns about 2 million square meters of space, and operates in The Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Turkey. Some of its biggest tenants are Ahold, H&M, and FNAC. They focus on malls that are dominant in their local area, where they can provide a wide variety of shopping, dining and restaurant - along with hosting special events and services. They want their malls to be places people enjoy hanging out at, and meeting other people, so they keep returning.

As of March 2008 Corio was included in the Dutch AEX index of 25 blue chip stocks. They're still buying properties. Just in December 2010 they announced the upcoming purchase of Palazzo del Lavoro in Turin, Italy.

Corio began in 1963 with the founding of VIB (Vastgoedfonds voor Institutionele Beleggers). VIB was publicly listed in 1984. And it merged with WBN (Winkel Beleggingen Nederland).

Corio is managed by the directors or Management Board. Gerard Groener is the CEO. It is based in Utrech The Netherlands.
