Ramco-Gershenson Properties is a fully-integrated, self-managed REIT (real estate investment trust) that develops, buys, manages shopping centers in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeastern United States.

It's headquartered in Farmington Hills Michigan, and the New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol is RPT. They own 89 shopping centers with 20 million square feet. 88 are community centers and one is a regional mall.

53% of their shopping centers are anchored by a supermarket. Their properties are located in the states of Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

This company started in the early 1950s when William and Aaron Gershenson started A & W Management Company. On May 1, 1996, along with 22 of its properties, merged with RPS Realty Trust.
