First Potomac Realty is a real estate investment trust in the southern Mid-Atlantic region of the United States -- Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia -- that's a market leader in the ownership and operation of industrial and flex properties, and business parks, including executive office buildings and distribution centers.
First Potomac was founded in 1997, and went public on October 23, 2003. They have over 500 million square feet. They're located in Bethesda Maryland, and they do have a dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP) for investors. They're concentrated in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
They have over 500 tenants, including the federal government and government contractors.
Their properties include: 30 W Patrick St Frederick Maryland; 9315 Largo Dr W Largo Maryland; Annapolis Commerce Park East Annapolis Maryland; Deer Park Randallstown Maryland; Gateway West Westminister Maryland; Rumsey Center Columbia Maryland; Airpark Place Business Center; Ammendale Commerce Center, English Muffin Way, Enterprise Center, Gateway Center, Chesterfield Business Center, Pine Glen, River's Bend, Virginia Center, Crossways Center I, Diamond Hill Distribution, Greenbriar Circle Corporate Center and Cavalier Blvd.
The economic fate of REIT First Potomac is obviously closely tied to the economic activity in those two states and the District of Columbia. However, although this will always go up and down, there will always be plenty of government needs for property in this area.
