Basic Income Investing Concepts and Terms
This section of the site is devoted to defining and explaining some common basic investing concepts and terms you should know about finances and income investing.
Even if you think you know all about these things, it's a good idea to see my definitions, to make sure you understand what I mean by these terms.
I do have opinions, insights and outlooks that you won't find in any other book or web site on investing
I'm not saying I'm the total expert or even a financial expert. I am self-educated above the average and an independent thinker capable of seeing things that others don't. Even the experts. Maybe especially the experts, because they tend to get locked into thinking like everyone else in their profession.
This is not always true, but sometimes it can be professionally dangerous to think too far beyond everyone else.
For example, I suspect that most financial professors would not want to express my opinions on the uselessness of capital gains/price increases/total yield.
I can get away with it because I'm not a financial professional -- I'm just one guy with a web site. I'm not giving financial advice you're paying for -- I'm giving away my opinions.
Many of you will disagree with me, because it's emotionally difficult to change a mindset. But some of you will understand my main point of the uselessness of capital gains.
